Susan’s Top Ten Lists for Women’s Health

Ten Things To Do!

  1. Drink water, half your body weight in ounces daily.
  2. Drink green tea, lemon water, milk thistle, alfalfa. These help the liver.
  3. Eat high quality protein, such as, cold water fish, eggs, beans, seeds, nuts.
  4. Eat lots of vegetables, such as, broccoli, brussel sprouts, and cabbage.
  5. Eat dark purple veggies, such as, beets, eggplant, and cabbage.
  6. Eat dark-colored fruits, such as, blueberries, blackberries, cherries, and strawberries.
  7. Use soy products, if you digest them well, and all other  beans. Our bodies can use them like estrogens.
  8. Eat fruits frozen or make natural slushies to take during your warmest moments.
  9. Drink cool teas of black cohosh, raspberry, sage, and red clover.
  10. Eat seeds and nuts, raw nut butters, oils, flax, sunflower, sesame, pumpkin, etc.
Ten Things Not To Do!
  1. Don't panic. You don't have a disease.
  2. Don't feel defeated by life. Believe that the best is yet to come.
  3. Don't deny your emotions. Deal with your demons. We all have them.
  4. Don't overuse alcohol, although some red wine can be medicinal. The cleaner your liver, the fewer hot flashes.
  5. Don't suffer in silence. Nature gave us many gifts to use at this time.
  6. Don't resist the urge to change the things that are interfering with your happiness.
  7. Don't turn away from God and nature. Understand your place in the universe.
  8. Don't deny yourself life's pleasures. We all have our indulgences. Treat yourself.
  9. Don't remove yourself from your own life experience through the use of anti-depressant drugs.
  10. Don't drink soft drinks, even sugar-free. They are very bad for bones and teeth.
